HUMANITARIAN
CASE

One of the most pressing public health concerns is mental illness, a condition that affects hundreds of millions of people globally. In fact, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health condition at some point in their lives. That means 4 in 4 people are significantly and profoundly impacted directly or indirectly.

With such serious ramifications for societies at large, it’s essential that we address the mental health needs of every individual in order for each society to survive, and eventually thrive.

For many individuals, mental illness can significantly impair their overall quality of life and thus society has a moral obligation to address mental health. However, mental illness has implications for both the global economy and employers.
